Sapa District is located in Lao Cai Province, north-west Vietnam, and 380 km north-west of Hanoi, close to the border with China. The Hoang Lien Son range of mountains dominates the district, which is at the eastern extremity of the Himalayas. This range includes Vietnam’s highest mountain, Fansipan, at a height of 3143 m above sea level. The town of Sapa lies at an altitude of about 1500 meters (4921 feet) above sea level. The climate is moderate and rainy in summer (May – August), and foggy and cold with occasional snowfalls in winter.

Tour overview

This tour brings you to the Cat Cat village and waterfall, the villages of Lao Chai, Ta Van, and Dzang Ta Chai in the beautiful Muong Hoa Valley, and to Sapa town. You will trek for 3 days through the various villages and still have time to experience all there is to see in charming Sapa.

Depart from Hanoi

DAY 1: Hanoi – SaPa – Cat Cat & Sin Chai ( L, D ) 
6.30 – 7.00: Our bus and tour guide will pick you up at  your hotel in hanoi old quarter, then depart to Sapa, following Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway.
Along the way, you will enjoy by the beauty of northwest mountains, terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog. Stop and have a rest in 30 minutes.
12.30: Arrive in Sapa, check in hotel and have lunch.
Afternoon: A walk down to the South-west of Sapa (around 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village of the Black H’mong. Relax at the food of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy picnic lunch by the side of the river, and then next 3 km to Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here you can enjoy huge stunning landscapes before climbing up on the way a jeep to return to Sapa.

Day 2: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van ( B,L, D )

6h30 – 7h00: After having breakfast, you will check out hotel. You will only need to bring a change of clothing, trekking gear and toiletries for your stay at the village homestay.
6km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. Continue on 2km of trekking down to Lao Chai village of the H’mong. Lunch at a local family, and then walk through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people where we stay for the night. It gives you a worth chance for you to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes.

 – 12 Km of trekking     

Day 3Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Hanoi ( B,L )

After breakfast, continue on 9 km of trekking to visit 2 villages of the red Dzao, the H’mong. Visit a beautiful waterfall and rattan bridge. Enjoy landscapes… through bamboo forest to the main road to catch the Car to return to Sapa.
16.00: It‘s time to say “Good-bye SaPa!” and drive back to Hanoi. Along the way, once again you have a chance to enjoy the magical beauty of northwest mountains.
22.00: We arrive in Ha Noi. End of services – see you next time!.
